Wanted person arrested
MABALACAT — The town police arrested a 40-year-old man who was charged with drug pushing last year.
The suspect identified as Edgardo Pabalan Santiago, married, of 0033 Casmor Phase 1 Barangay Mabiga, was ranked as second most wanted person in this municipality.
Santiago managed to escape during a buy-bust operation conducted by elements of the town police last year.
PO2 Gerome Canlas, a warrant officer here, said Santiago was arrested near his residence on Tuesday.
Santiago was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued on August 4 2010 by Judge Omar Viola of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 57 in Angeles City under criminal case Number 10-1824.
Canlas said the suspect was charged in court for violating Section 5 (drug pushing) of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The court did not set a bail for Santiago who is now detained at the Mabalacat Police Station.
