Cops probe robbery-shooting incident
ANGELES CITY — The city police have been investigating a robbery-shooting incident involving a nephew of a city official here.
City Police Director Danilo Bautista said they are now conducting follow-up operations to identify the men who shot Philip Duhay Lungsod Tayag, 30, a City Hall employee and nephew of city executive secretary Alex Cauguiran.
Two armed men riding in tandem reportedly shot Tayag after stealing his motorcycle and other valuables around 11:10 p.m. Sunday inside the Marisol Subdivision in Barangay Ninoy Aquino here.
Tayag and his girlfriend were about to enter the City Hall official’s residence when the suspect suddenly appeared.
The victim’s girlfriend told police investigators that the suspects, who came onboard a Honda TMX motorcycle, poked a gun at Tayag and grabbed the latter’s bag containing a mobile phone and other valuables.
But before leaving the place, one of the suspects who wore bonnets shot Tayag on the face.
The suspects also took Tayag’s motorcycle, a Yamaha Mio (7859 RQ).
Tayag is now in stable condition but is still under doctors’ watch at the intensive care unit of the Angeles University Foundation Medical Center. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
