Village chief gunned down

CAMP OLIVAS — A barangay chairman was gunned down by unidentified armed men riding in tandem along the Gapan-Olongapo Road in Barangay Tabuan, Arayat town, Tuesday night.
The fatality was identified as Romeo Quiambao, 64, village chief of Barangay Tabun.
Reports said the victim was in front of the Sto. Nino Church at the vicinity of Barangay Tabuan around 8:30 p.m. when the suspects shot him on the head and chest.
Quiambao was immediately taken to the Arayat District Hospital for treatment but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
After shooting the victim, the suspects boarded their getaway black Euro motorcycle without plates and sped towards Nueva Ecija.
Police recovered two spent shells for .45 caliber pistol at the scene of the crime.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the killing, reports said.
Senior Superintendent Edgar Tinio, Pampanga police provincial director, ordered Thursday Arayat police chief to identify and arrest the perpetrators. (Ric Sapnu)
