‘Kabayan’ death toll now at 4 -11Aug01

THE death toll from Typhoon Kabayan (international codename: Muifa) rose to four Monday.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRMMC), in its 6 a.m. Monday bulletin, said the fatalities include two in Bulacan and two in Bohol.
The council also said five people were injured.
A total of 642 families or 3,158 persons were also affected in Central Luzon, the NDRRMC added.
Kabayan as of 10 a.m. Monday was spotted at 1,160 kilometers east northeast of Aparri, Cagayan, the Philippine Atmospheric geophysical and Astronomical Sercies Administration (Pagasa) said.
Kabayan packed maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.
It is moving north northwest at 9 kph, Pagasa added. (Sunnex)
