‘Kabayan’ leaves 2 persons dead-11Aug01
TWO fishermen died when the motorized boat they were riding sank in Hagonoy, Bulacan due strong winds brought by Typhoon Kabayan.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council identified the two as Liberto Yumol, 40 years old and Jason Reyes, 30.
“Kabayan” has maintained its strength as it continues to move northward, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
It was last spotted at 980 kilometers (km) east of Casiguran, Aurora with a maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 210 kph.
The weather burea said “Kabayan” is expected to be at 1,020 km east of Aparri, Cagayan on Monday and at 1,060 km east northeast of Aparri, Cagayan by Tuesday morning.
No public storm warning signals have been raised. (Sunnex)
