How Much Caffeine in Starbucks Coffee Drinks?
Most Starbucks drinks contain caffeine. Find levels of caffeine for Starbucks coffee drinks with this list of caffeine contents for Starbucks’ Frappuccinos, espresso drinks and coffee drinks.
The caffeine levels for each Starbucks drink listed below correspond to different drink sizes. These are: Short (8 oz), Tall (12 oz), Grande (16 oz), Venti (20 oz), Venti Iced (24 oz) Trenta Iced (31 oz). Drinks in each category are listed from lower caffeine contents to higher caffeine contents.
Caffeine levels of Starbucks tea and hot chocolate are listed separately.
Caffeine Levels of Starbucks Frappuccinos
Many of Starbucks’ “Creme Frappuccinos” are caffeine free. Caffeine-free Creme Frappuccinos include:
• Cinnamon Dolce Creme Frappuccino
• Pumpkin Spice Creme Frappuccino
• Soy Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino
• Strawberries & Creme Frappuccino
• Vanilla Bean Creme Frappuccino
• White Chocolate Creme Frappuccino
Due to caffeine from chocolate, the Double Chocolaty Chip Frappuccino Blended Beverage contains low levels of caffeine:
• Tall – 10 mg
• Grande – 15 mg
• Venti Iced – 20 mg
Unlike most Starbucks Creme Frappuccinos, its Tazo Chai Creme Frappuccino and Tazo Green Tea Creme Frappuccino Blended Beverages contain caffeine. The Tazo Chai Creme Frappuccino’s caffeine contents are:
• Tall – 20 mg
• Grande – 40 mg
• Venti Iced – 60 mg
The caffeine contents for the Tazo Green Tea Creme Frappuccino are:
• Tall – 50 mg
• Grande – 75 mg
• Venti Iced – 95 mg
Frappuccinos made with coffee also contain caffeine. Starbucks’ Cinnamon Dolce Frappuccino Blended Beverage starts at just 60 mg of caffeine per serving:
• Tall – 60 mg
• Grande – 85 mg
• Venti Iced – 110 mg
Although the Starbucks website doesn’t chart all the caffeine levels for its Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino Light Blended Beverage, it does say that its Grande Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino contains 85 mg of caffeine, so it seems reasonable to estimate that its caffeine levels for other drink sizes would be similar to those listed above.
The Mocha Frappuccino Light Blended Beveragehas slightly more caffeine:
• Tall – 60 mg
• Grande – 95 mg
• Venti Iced – 120 mg
Their Caffe Vanilla Frappuccino and Caramel Brulee Frappuccino Blended Beverage contain the following amounts of caffeine:
• Tall – 65 mg
• Grande – 90 mg
• Venti Iced – 120 mg
Starbucks’ website doesn’t list complete nutritional information for its Coffee Frappuccino Light Blended Beverage, but it does say that a Grande Coffee Frappuccino contains 90 mg of caffeine, placing it roughly on par with the drinks above.
Starbucks’ Caramel Frappuccino and Extra Coffee Caramel Frappuccino both contain the same amount of caffeine:
• Tall – 65 mg
• Grande – 95 mg
• Venti Iced – 120mg
The Mocha Frappuccino and Coffee Frappuccino’s caffeine levels are slightly higher:
• Tall – 70 mg
• Grande – 95 mg
• Venti Iced – 130 mg
A Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino contains the following amounts of caffeine:
• Tall – 70 mg
• Grande – 100 mg
• Venti Iced – 125 mg
Due to a mix of caffeine from coffee and caffeine from chocolate, the Java Chip Frappuccino and Java Chip Frappuccino Light contain slightly more caffeine than most Frappuccinos. A Grande Java Chip Frappuccino Light contains 100 mg of caffeine. The regular Java Chip Frappuccino has slightly more caffeine:
• Tall – 75 mg
• Grande – 105 mg
• Venti Iced – 135 mg
Similarly, the White Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino has a higher caffeine level (although this is due to its mocha, not due to the white chocolate; white chocolate is caffeine-free).
• Tall – 85 mg
• Grande – 110 mg
• Venti Iced – 155 mg
The Frappuccino with the most caffeine is the Espresso Frappuccino.
• Tall – 120 mg
• Grande – 145 mg

Caffeine Levels of Starbucks’ Coffee Drinks
The Starbucks coffee drink with the least caffeine is the Decaf Pike’s Place Roast.
• Short – 15 mg
• Tall – 20 mg
• Grande – 25 mg
• Venti – 30 mg
Next up is the Starbucks Iced Coffee with Milk.
• Tall – 90 mg
• Grande – 125 mg
• Venti Iced – 170 mg
• Trenta Iced – 195 mg
Another milky coffee drink, the Caffe Misto, contains slightly more caffeine.
• Short – 75 mg
• Tall – 115 mg
• Grande – 150 mg
• Venti – 195 mg
Although the Iced Coffee with Milk is fairly low in caffeine, the Iced Coffee is substantially higher in caffeine.
• Tall – 120 mg
• Grande – 165 mg
• Venti Iced – 235 mg
• Trenta Iced – 285 mg
Topping the list with the most caffeine per cup are Starbucks’ Bold Pick of the Day, Clover Brewed Coffee and Pike’s Place Roast. Although Starbucks notes that the caffeine levels of these drinks may vary, they are listed on the Starbucks website as:
• Short – 180 mg
• Tall – 260 mg
• Grande – 330 mg
• Venti – 415 mg
Caffeine Levels of Starbucks’ Hot Espresso Drinks
Many of Starbucks’ espresso drinks are made with a single shot of espresso in their Short and Tall sizes and a double shot of espresso in their Grande and Venti sizes. Unless these contain chocolate or extra coffee, their caffeine levels are:
• Short and Tall – 75 mg
• Grande and Venti – 150 mg
Drinks with these caffeine levels include the:
• Caffè Latte
• Cinnamon Dolce Latte
• Cappuccino
• Caramel Brulee Latte
• Caramel Macchiato
• Eggnog Latte
• Flavored Lattes
• Gingerbread Latte

Similarly, a “solo” Espresso, Espresso con Panna and Espresso Macchiato all contain 75 mg caffeine, while “doppios” of the same drinks contain 150 mg of caffeine.
A Starbucks Caffè Americano contains the following amounts of caffeine:
• Short – 75 mg
• Tall – 150 mg
• Grande – 225 mg
• Venti – 300 mg
A Starbucks Cocoa Cappuccino contains cocoa, so it has more caffeine:
• Short – 80 mg
• Tall – 90 mg
• Grande – 170 mg

Their Peppermint Mocha contains:
• Short – 90 mg
• Tall – 95 mg
• Grande – 175 mg

Many of Starbucks’ iced espresso drinks are made with a “solo” (single shot of espresso) in the Tall size, a “doppio” (double shot of espresso) in the Grande size and three shots of espresso in the Venti Iced size. Unless they contain chocolate or extra espresso, these drink contain the following levels of caffeine:
• Tall – 75 mg
• Grande – 150 mg
