Pampanga lawmakers attend national confab in Davao

MEXICO — The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be mentally challenged, was found by a farmer in his cornfields recently, police reports said.
The woman was found naked recently at Purok 5 in Barangay San Jose Malino of this town.
According to SPO4 Edgardo Balajadia of the Mexico Municipal Police Station, one Abelardo Lino, the caretaker of the cornfields, stumbled upon the body of the woman while tending to the farm.
“He then reported it to barangay councilman Carmelo Malonzon who called us about the dead and naked woman. We were told that she was allegedly mentally challenged as she was referred to as a ‘taong grasa.’ But we asked Scene of the Crime Operative Operatives for a scientific investigation to determine the real cause of death or if the woman was raped,” Balajadia said Thursday.
He said the woman bore contusions on the right side of her face and was bathing in her own blood when retrieved by Mexico police elements led by SPO4 Homer Songco.
“The Soco team led by police chief investigator Angel de Mario then brought the body of the woman to the Tumang Funeral Parlor for autopsy. But we have not received the autopsy report yet,” he added.
Balajadia said relatives of the woman have not similarly come forward to identify the body. Police are now conducting a follow-up investigation on the case.
