CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Some 234 public elementary students from Parulog and Del Pilar Elementary Schools here received Tuesday bags of school supplies and uniforms from third district Board Members Monina Laus and Trina Dizon.
Laus and Dizon personally visited indigent students of the said schools and gave away school supplies like notebooks and pens needed by the students to start their initial months in school.

“The beneficiaries were selected with the help of the homeroom teachers who went to lengths to identify which among their students are in need of help,” Laus said.
She told Sun.Star Pampanga that most of the children in the schools come from marginalized families.
The two board members said the program is under their respective committees on education, social welfare and women and children.
Beneficiaries also received shirts and blouses from the board members.
Dizon, for her part, said they plan to institutionalize the said program in order to entice children from marginalized families to continue schooling.
She said basic education plays a crucial role in the development of a person.
“These children deserve the chance to be productive members of the society. They can only achieve that through proper education. We intend on making this project a yearly activity,” Dizon said.
Laus and Dizon are set to visit other schools in the third district as part of their education assistance program.
