CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda on Tuesday said P82 million has been allocated for the provincial school board’s budget.
During a morning forum at Bren Z. Guiao convention Center with all school principals across Pampanga, Governor Pineda said P42 million of the funds is for bidding for the building of classrooms, while P40 has been allotted for ongoing repair and rehabilitation of other school facilities.

The governor said the construction of comfort rooms for schools — two for males and two for females per school — will be the top priority, along with the provision of potable water systems.
The budget for the comfort rooms is around P360,000 each, she said.
Governor Pineda also announced the release of 7,000 desks, 5,000 units of which will be for grades 4, 5 and 6, and the other 2,000 for grades 1, 2, and 3.
She said her administration targets the construction of additional classrooms in order to reduce the 70 to 80 students per classroom ratio in some villages.
Department of Education Division Schools chief Rosalinda Luna said the province has 467 public elementary and 104 high schools, with student population of some 223,000 and 98,000, respectively.
Pineda said she hopes at least 70 percent of the education infrastructure lined up by her administration will be accomplished this year.
The governor also asked school principals to submit to her a list of those who failed to enroll, as she plans to extend financial assistance to them.
Meanwhile, the school principals lauded the governor when she announced a health care program for teachers.
