CITY OF SAN FERNANDO โ Two weeks after reports of refusing to recognize an order from the Civil Service Commission, Mayor Oscar Rodriguez formally welcomed back an ally of a former mayor.
Rodriguez welcomed back City Assessor Joey De Leon to the city hall during the flag raising rites on Monday.

De Leon was greeted with a resounding applause from fellow City Hall employees.
โWe belong to one team so we are not here to quarrel but to advocate making difference in governance,โ Rodriguez said.
Meanwhile, De Leon was elated by the mayorโs welcome. โIโm happy to be back and see familiar faces. I would like extend my sincerest gratitude to the mayor for his kind heartedness and accommodation to welcoming me back,โ De Leon said.
De Leon was an ally of former City Mayor and now Philippine Health Insurance Corporation President Rey Aquino. He also served as acting city administrator during Aquinoโs term.
He was charged with gross insubordination and grave misconduct after failing to submit his password for the cityโs assessor database system.
In 2008, the CSC dismissed De Leon from government service following charges against him filed by the City Government. He has stopped coming to office since.
After hearing the case, the CSC ordered the reinstatement of De Leon in the service on January 2011 and downgraded his case to simple insubordination.
He reported back to work on May 25.
Rodriguez earlier said he is still waiting for the Court of Appeals (CA) decision as De Leon elevated it to the higher body.
However, Rodriguez and De Leon ended the issue with a recent private talk.
The mayor said he asked De Leon to withdraw the pending case at the CA.

With new golf courses springing up in and around Clark Philippines and an ever-increasing patronage by tourists from neighboring South Korea, Clark Freeport is short on hotel accommodation.
Even with the addition of 27 holes in 2009 and 2010, there is an acute shortage golf tee times for at least 5-6 months each year. Local players compete with frustrated (golf) tourists from Korea and China for tee times. Unfortunately Clark Philippines doesnโt have the luxury of vast tracts of land suitable for this type of development.
Mimosa offers 36 holes of championship golf, visitors can pay and play, busy during the weekends but not that difficult to get on or join up with a group to form a 4-ball. The new FAKCC offers 27 holes of world-class golf.
