Mexico cops nab robbery suspect

MEXICO — Police operatives here arrested a man for robbing a woman of her belongings in Sto. Domingo Subdivision, Barangay San Jose Matulid here over the weekend.
Police reports revealed that two unidentified suspects armed with short firearms perpetrated the robbery.
At gun point, the two declared a hold-up, then took from the victim, identified as Jacquelyn Bondoc, one Nokia E-63 cellphone worth P12,000 and cash amounting to more or less P50,000.
The suspects fled to toward Robinsons Starmills in the City of San Fernando on board a motorcycle with unknown plate number.
Upon receipt of the report, elements of Mexico police, together with Bantay Bayan Rolando Gonzales, conducted a follow-up investigation, which resulted in the arrest of Jose Billy Manabat, 42, single and resident of Purok 5, San Jose Matulid, Mexico town.
The police, however, did not recover the firearm, motorcycle and stolen items, which were believed to have been taken away by another companion of the suspect.
Hot pursuit operation is still being conducted by elements of Mexico police for the possible apprehension of the other suspect.
The arrested suspect is presently detained at Mexico Police Station while pertinent documents are being prepared for filing in court against him.
