Pampanga museums, art studio join Museum Day celebration
May 16, 2011
ANGELES CITY — Museums and art studios here and in the entire province will be opening all their galleries for public visitation from May 18 to 20 in celebration of the International Museum Day.
The International Council of Museums said the International Museum Day has been celebrated all over the world since 1977.
Each year, a theme is decided on by the Advisory Committee. The event provides the opportunity for museum professionals to meet the public and alert them to the challenges that museums face today.
The event aims to draw attention on the need to support museums and increase awareness for the setting up of museums in communities that need cultural and historical preservation.
Among those participating in this yearβs event include the Museo Ning Angeles in downtown Angeles City, Museong Kapampangan and Clark Museum inside Clark Freeport and Donreich Sumang De Dios Studio in Barangay Telabastagan, City of San Fernando.
The Museo Ning Angeles will be opening its culinarium, as well as its regular exhibits of memorabilia of the local history of Angeles City. The Museo Ning Angeles is located along Sto. Rosario Street and is housed at the old municipal building.
Museong Kapampangan and the Clark Museum feature World War II memorabilia and artifacts on the Philippine Revolution against Spain. The said museums are located Fort Stotsenberg Parade Grounds inside Clark Greeport.
Donreich Sumang De Dios Studio features Kapampangan artworks of Donreich De Dios and local Kapampangan artists in Pampanga.

With new golf courses springing up in and around Clark Philippines and an ever-increasing patronage by tourists from neighboring South Korea, Clark Freeport is short on hotel accommodation.
Even with the addition of 27 holes in 2009 and 2010, there is an acute shortage golf tee times for at least 5-6 months each year. Local players compete with frustrated (golf) tourists from Korea and China for tee times. Unfortunately Clark Philippines doesnβt have the luxury of vast tracts of land suitable for this type of development.
Mimosa offers 36 holes of championship golf, visitors can pay and play, busy during the weekends but not that difficult to get on or join up with a group to form a 4-ball. The new FAKCC offers 27 holes of world-class golf.
