Cops arrest 2 for robbery, grave threat

ANGELES CITY β Elements of the Police Station 6 on Thursday arrested two men for robbing a woman of some P48,000 along Barangay Agapito Del Rosario here.
Police reports reveal that police operatives led by Chief Inspector Marciano Banola were conducting patrol when they received a radio alarm of a robbery perpetrated by men riding in tandem.
The vehicle (YR 3095) was spotted traversing along P. Gomez St. in Barangay Salapungan. Banolaβs team gave chase and a hot pursuit ensued when suddenly the back rider alighted off the motorcycle and ran. He was immediately arrested.
Police identified the suspect Vex Lopez, 21, of 617 Diego Silang St., Barangay Salapungan.
Taken from his possession were a kitchen eight-inch knife, 20 pieces of 100 peso bills, 10 pieces of 20 peso bills and one piece of $100 and a small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing dried marijuana leaves.
The driver who eluded arrest was later identified as Nilo Cao, 23, a resident of 459 Cuatro De Julio St., Barangay Salapungan, who voluntarily surrendered. He was accompanied by his uncle, barangay councilor Leonides Ico of same barangay, together with the motorcycle.
Investigation shows that the victim, identified as Imelda Martin, 33, was walking along G Valdez St. in Barangay Agapito Del Rosario when the suspects poked a kitchen knife at her neck and announced the heist.
Taken from her was a handbag containing at least P48,000 (with dollar bills) and other important documents.
The two suspects were charged with robbery with threat and intimidation against person, drug possession and illegal possession of bladed weapon.
