Laus off to UK for goodwill mission

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO β€” Third district Board Member Monina Laus is set for a goodwill visit to the Luton town in the United Kingdom on May 18 in a bid to establish ties for social service missions and livelihood projects here.

Laus told Sun.Star Pampanga that her visit has been facilitated through the invitation of the local Filipino community, particularly Kapampangans.

β€œOur visit will also be tasked to explore possible programs and projects not just with the Provincial Government but also non-government groups in Pampanga,” Laus said, adding that she will also report on the state of the province under the leadership of Governor Lilia Pineda among Kapampangan residents in Luton.

Laus said that she would like to facilitate the possible tie-ups for medical missions, exchange of best practices in government and livelihood partnerships with the local Kapampangan communities here.

Laus said that her visit will constitute meeting with the Kapampangan community in the area and set the ground works for network tie-ups. Laus is also expected to meet with Luton Mayor Tom Shaw for a courtesy visit.

Luton, a large town and unitary authority of Bedfordshire, England 30 miles north of London, is home to a significant number of Filipino immigrants and overseas Filipino workers. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
