4 arrested in Angeles over illegal drugs
May 10, 2011
ELEMENTS of the Angeles City Police Office (Acpo) Station 6 arrested four individuals reportedly engaged in selling illegal drugs in Barangay Malabanias over the weekend.
Police reports said Acpo operatives conducted a buy-bust operation, which resulted in the arrest of suspects Marites Rubo, 53; Manuel Lopez, 50; Edwin Nicdao, 27; and Jay-Jay Quito, 22.
According to police, the four suspects are all residents of 3rd Street of the said barangay.
Investigations revealed that last May 6, a confidential informant reported that the suspects were indulged in selling marijuana at said place.
Immediately, a team was dispatched to verify the report and after establishing the identity of the suspects, coordination was made with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Luzon.
After a short debriefing, a poseur buyer was dispatched at the given address and negotiations at a shanty were made. The poseur buyer was able to purchase from the suspects one heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected marijuana dried leaves. The suspects were immediately arrested after receiving the payment/marked money.
Also found from Rubo and Lopez were heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing marijuana leaves.
One sachet containing the same drug was also confiscated from Nicdao, while another was taken from Quito.
The confiscated items were all taken to Police Station 6 for investigation while police are filing appropriate charges against the suspects. (Ian Ocampo Flora)
