Streamers all over city intrigue folks
April 18, 2011
ITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Streamers appearing all over the city since last week reading “Handa KNB San Fernando?” have piqued the curiosity of many.
Many Facebook users have even posted the streamers on their accounts, tagging their friends and challenging them to crack the message. “Kamay na Bakal” was one meaning coined by a techie while another guessed “Kristo na Nabuhay,” noting that the first streamer came out on Easter Sunday. Another hinted it could be black propaganda aimed at the City Government.
Over the weekend, however, City Administrator Ferdinand Caylao admitted that the streamers were “teasers” for an upcoming “big event” of the city.
Sun.Star Pampanga noticed an entry on the bulletin board of the Heroes’ Hall: “Easter Sunday event” for 700 pax booked on April 24 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
At first, Caylao told Sun.Star Pampanga that the teasers encompassed everything from Holy Week to Fiestang Fernandino, but opined that “it really concerns everyone.”
“It is actually the capping point and launch of our waste segregation program. We simply coincided it with Easter Sunday, which symbolizes a new lease on life sa muling pagkabuhay. It is also a challenge to all Fernandinos,” Caylao said.
He said that beginning Easter Sunday, the City Government will fully enforce its thrust on waste segregation and solid waste management to protect, save and give the environment the “new life” it deserves.
