April 16, 2011
CLARK FREEPORT — A top official of the Consulate General Office in San Francisco, California has pledged support to investment promotions for Clark Freeport, which is expected to help boost the Philippine economy.
Marciano A. Paynor Jr., consul general in San Francisco, California, gave the assurance during a courtesy call made by Noel Tulabut, assistant manager of Public Relations Department of Clark Development Corporation (CDC).
Tulabut is in the US for initial talks with key diplomatic, consular and trade officials for the establishment of a suppliers’ chain for various Clark firms.
“Be assured of our full support (for Clark),” Paynor said.
He cited the need for a sustained drive for the promotion of the Philippines as an investment destination.
During the meeting that was organized by Silicon Valley-based Kapampangan Demos Punsalan, Paynor underscored the role of his office in the promotion of trade and tourism for Clark and the Philippines.
“Part of my responsibility here is to help out in tourism and trade and I always subscribe to the policy of command responsibility,” Parnor said, as he endorsed the investment promotions activities for Clark to the Trade Representative Office here.
The meeting also delved on ways to address issues and concerns raised by prospective investors and locators in the areas of cooperation, security, and mutual benefits for Clark, its locators and the host communities. It was also attended by Rene delos Santos, tourism director for Northwestern USA of the Department of Tourism.
Punsalan, chair of the California Technological Care, lauded moves by CDC to sustain coordination and exploratory activities that would boost investment potentials of Clark.
“It is good that CDC always tries to make its presence felt where investors are like the Silicon Valley area,” Punsalan said.
For his part, Tulabut expressed gratitude to Consulate officials headed by Paynor on behalf of CDC management.
“We could only be so thankful to government executives here for the support they give in helping promote Clark as a destination for trade, tourism, and investments,” Tulabut said.
Tulabut, who is in the US on personal account, also called on the Philippine Trade Representative executives here and in New York for public relations and marketing activities for Clark Freeport.
