Guv favors village registry system
April 12, 2011
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Governor Lilia Pineda is more inclined to the creation of a unique barangay registry system than the adoption of an identification card scheme.
Capitolβs Provincial Information Officer Joel Mapiles on Monday said the governor is pushing for barangay registry system to allow Kapampangan employers to register their transient employees. The barangay registry will also include brief profile of local residents.
βThe governor wants the health status of residents to appear so when a medical mission is conducted, she would know how to treat them. The governor would like to know also the skills of the residents for employment purposes through the registry,β Mapiles said.
Mapiles said the ongoing skills registry system of the Provincial Employment Services Office will be incorporated with the barangay information system for greater efficiency, addressing health, education and employment concerns.
