Senate post interests actress
ACTRESS Alma Moreno is interested in running for senator in the 2013 midterm elections under the political party of former President-turned-Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Lakas-CMD president and Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. bared this during the party’s national council meeting on Friday attended by almost 150 local officials from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The meeting was held at the Diamond Hotel in Manila City.

“We only have one candidate, Mitos Magsaysay. Alma Moreno is also interested. They are the only two people who are interested in running for senator,” Revilla told reporters in an ambush interview.
Magsaysay is currently a representative of Zambales province, while Moreno is the current national president of the Philippine Councilors League.
Revilla, meanwhile, said that while Lakas-CMD does not have a senatorial slate, it will endorse candidates from President Benigno Aquino III’s Liberal Party and the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) of Vice President Jejomar Binay and former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada.
“There is no need for an alliance. We can stand on our own. Our party is strong,” Revilla stressed, adding that support from constituents of its members remains strong.
Representative Magsaysay had earlier been adopted by UNA as its guest candidate.
“We are back to where we started. This is to prove that our party is still alive. We are not politically dead. The administration can expect a proactive support from us, we won’t give them headache,” Revilla said.
