Out-of-school youth laud Capitol’s scholarship program
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –- Several out-of-school youth who passed the recent Non-Formal Education Accreditation and Equivalency Test under the Alternative Learning System (ALS) of the Department of Education lauded the Provincial Government for its scholarship program.
“Doble po ang saya namin dahil mayroon na kaming diploma na katumbas ng diploma na ibinibigay sa mga high school graduates, at ngayon ay pwedi pa kaming mag-aral ng college sa tulong ng Kapitolyo,” Jasper Mendoza, ALS graduate said.
The Provincial Government through Governor Lilia Pineda earlier disclosed that application for scholarship grants is also open to ALS graduates who want to pursue college education.
Pineda promised to provide some P5,000 per semester or P10,000 per year.
“Malaking tulong na po ito para sa amin,” Mendoza added.
The Capitol is also giving scholarship grants to students who graduated valedictorian, salutatorian, and first honorable mention.
They are expected to receive P20,000 every year subject to the condition that they will maintain an average of 85 percent.
Others who graduated second to third honorable mention will be getting at least P10,000 per year and the 4th to 10th honor will receive P5,000.
