Oca, SF chairmen applaud Pineda for P10.5-M aid
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO–Mayor Oscar Rodriguez and the village chieftains here lauded the provincial government under the leadership of Governor Lilia “Nanay” G. Pineda for the provision of P10.5-million aid to 35 barangays in this city.
The mayor told the governor that the village chiefs who were given P300,000 each know how to properly utilize the said funds using the balanced score card of the city for their developmental projects in their respective communities.
The village chiefs had expressed gratitude to the governor for her relentless support for the development of their respective barangays in this city.
Annually, the provincial government is allocating funds for the aid to barangays in the entire province as a way of helping the barangays in the implementation of their pet projects.
As this developed, Pineda appealed to the barangays officials to ask the political candidates in the coming 2013 elections to stop from bickering and mudslinging particularly during the election and campaign period.
“Let us work for the removal of the province in the watch list of the Comelec in the coming election,” the governor appealed to barangay officials.
She also reiterated her call not to involve themselves in partisan politics but to actively do their duties in maintaining the peace and order in their respective villages.
She clarified that the provision of aid to barangays is not election related as the funds were duly approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan last November but they were not given earlier due to hectic schedule of the local officials.
The awarding of the aid to barangays, held at the Benigno Hall of the provincial capitol, was witnessed by Board Members Raul Macalino, Monina Monz Laus, Trina Dizon, Ralph Dein Henson, Ricardo Yabut, Nestor Tolentino and Cris Garbo; City Councilor Ato Agustin and former Councilor Bernie Castro. ● Elaine Mercado
