With a number of international awards tucked under his belt, including the 1994 Photographer of the Year Award given by the prestigious Press Photographers of the Philippines, Vecina is one of the most recognized names in the industry. With his insightful style of photography that brings about his subject’s spirit, his works have appeared in the world’s most prominent publications like Time, Newsweek, Asiaweek, New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and Canada’s Sposa wedding magazine.
Mr. Vecina has 30 years of experience as photojournalist. A journalism graduate, he started out in sports and news photography. He worked at international news agencies such as Reuters and Agence France Presse. He also worked for Hong Kong Standard in Hong Kong and major local dailies such as the Philippine Daily Express, Evening Post, Bulletin Today and Philippine Star. He was a pioneer staff at the Philippine Daily Inquirer.
Mr. Vecina has photographed the past five Philippine Presidents and other well known personalities. He goes beyond merely recording a subject his photographers speak directly to the viewer.
Mr.Vecina now specializes in fashion and wedding photography and regularly contributes to the lifestyle section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer. He brings the photojournalistic style to document your wedding as he would bring to cover an assignment for a leading newspaper and magazine. These “slices to life” photos create photographic essay that captures the true spirit of your special day.
