Butcher jailed for stealing pigs
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga–A meat butcher was arrested after he was caught in the act of stealing five live pigs from a farm in Bongabon, Nueva Ecija last Saturday.
Police said the suspect, identified as Alberto Suarez, 34, of 207 Barangay San Roque, Bongabon, Nueva Ecija, will be charged with robbery and violation of the Comelec gun ban.
According to police investigation, Isamel Reguval, 44, owner of the ICT farm, and resident of Purok 1, Barangay Larcon, Bongabon reported to the police station at about 12:25 a.m. that Suarez was caught by his workers stealing five hogs inside his farm.
ICT farm is located at Barangay Larcon.
According to investigation, Suarez gained entry into the farm by passing thru a wired fence he cut with the help of two cohorts.
The two cohorts identified as Jayson Daguman, 22, and Jurie Yambao, 19; both butchers and residents of Barangay San Roque, Bongabon, eluded arrest and are still at large.
Police said, when frisked, Suarez yielded one caliber 22 Magnum revolver with live ammunitions, without pertinent documents and gun ban exemption.–Froilan E Magtoto
