Bullish on Clark air passenger volume, Travel agency opens at Marquee
ANGELES CITY–A travel agency recently opened at the Marquee Mall here and it’s banking on the improving passengers’ volume at the Clark International Airport (CIA).
Gilda Padua, former two-time president of the Association of Travel and Tours Agencies of Pampanga, launched The Travelorder travel agency at the third level of the mall. She is the president of the newly-opened shop.
Padua said that the travel agency is “located in a very successful mall in a very ideal site.” She added that that “licensed travel shops manned by train personnel should mushroom” in Pampanga.
The passengers at the CIA increased by at least 62 percent for the first quarter of 2013 compared to the same period last year.
Maria Paz Alberto, former President of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) and president of the Makati City-based Art Travel Express Inc., and Department of Tourism (DOT) Regional Director Ronnie Tiotuico joined Padua and her husband, Philippine Air Force pilot Gen Padua, in the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon. Alberto is a friend and business partner of Padua.
Padua said they will offer “not just affordable, but hassle-free travels and accommodations.” She added that “people are assured of their money’s worth” by patronizing travel agencies recognized by the DOT.
Among the other guests were Ramon Chito Portugal of the Razon’s halo-halo and video and filmmaker Robert “Kentor” Canlas of this city.
Icen Perucho is the store manager of the Travelorder, which is near Marquee’s cinema shops at the third level.
