Australian executive found dead in Clark
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga–Authorities are looking into the death of an Australian national who was suspected to have committed suicide Monday inside a rented house at Regency Park Town House in Clark Field, Pampanga.
The death of Paul Brian Conlon, 50, married, chief executive officer of ICE International Technologies, was discovered at about 1:30 p.m. by Elizabeth Pascua Castillo, a housemaid at Regency Park.
Castillo told police investigators she saw the lifeless body of Conlon hanging at the wooden stairways of the house with a piece of rope tied around his neck.
She relayed the incident to the security guards of Regency Park who immediately called the police.
According to Castillo she went to Conlon’s at about 12 noon for her scheduled house cleaning. She repeatedly rang the doorbell for several times but nobody answered.
Thinking Conlon and his live-in partner, one Lyka Martin Santos, were not around at that time, she decided to open the door using her duplicate keys. But to her surprise, she found the Australian hanging dead at the stairs.
Police said Santos, 27, a resident of Lourdes Park in Bamban, Tarlac and a nursing student at Systems Plus College in Angeles City was at the school when Conlon’s body was found.
Probers said Conlon has sent a text message “I love you” along with their picture to her live-in partner before committing suicide. Also a computerized suicide note was found placed on top of a sofa inside the house.
Police said there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of Conlon but puzzled over to what really was the reason behind his suicide. ●Rudy J. Abular
