2 dams in Luzon keep gates open, let out excess water
Binga Dam in Benguet and Magat Dam in the Ifugao-Isabela area still kept their gates open on Tuesday to let out excess water, PAGASA said.
As of 6 a.m. Tuesday, PAGASA said Binga kept one gate open at 0.7 meter, while Magat kept one gate open at two meters.
PAGASA said Binga’s water level was at 574.48 meters, slightly below the 574.60 meters recorded Monday morning.
This was below the 575-meter high level of Binga Dam, it said.
On the other hand, Magat’s water level was 193.33 meters, higher than Monday’s 193 meters. This was above the 190-meter high level of the dam.
Both Binga and Magat had also kept one gate open each Monday to let out excess water. –KG, GMA News
