MEXICO, Pampanga –A private prosecutor was seriously wounded when shot Thursday night by unidentified armed men while on board his car in Barangay Parian here, reports said.

Police identified the victim as Lawyer Ryan Rueda, 32, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds in his arms and legs when fired upon by motorcycle-riding suspects past 7 pm.

Supt. Niel Miro, Chief of Police of Mexico, said the victim was on his way home on board a white sedan from the Endona Law Office where he is one of the partners, to City of San Fernando when the gunmen shot the victim.

The suspects fled heading east, it was stated in the sketchy police report.

He said an investigation is ongoing to determine the motive behind the foiled ambush-slay, as there are information regarding “sensitive cases” being handled by the victim.

According to police, Rueda is handling many cases, including a land dispute case which allegedly involves a huge realty firm.

Police theorized that the motive behind the ambush may be work-related.

Miro said all activities in the area, where the incident happened, from the law office down the road, are documented through Close-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera installed along that place.

Rueda is now recuperating in a hospital in the City of San Fernando.
