Aquino orders economic,MANILA — The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) reported that as of 9 a.m. Monday, only 16 out of the company’s 711 circuits remain without power.
This corresponds to 113,398 affected customers or just around two percent of Meralco’s total customer count.
Meralco, the country’s largest power distributor, said what remains to be unenergized at the moment are mostly isolated circuits, or circuits which have been badly hit or the restoration of which is made more difficult by obstructions like debris.
These include felled trees and tarpaulins that caused damage to Meralco’s overhead facilities such as electric posts and lines.
The company, however, assured that its personnel are out in the field doing the necessary restoration work to be able to bring back power to affected customers at the soonest possible time.
Meralco at present has not given a list of the affected areas but advised affected customers to contact the company’s call center at telephone number 16211 for queries regarding the status of restoration work in their respective areas.
They may also text their concern to mobile numbers (0920) 9716211 or (0917) 5516211. Affected customers may also obtain updates from Meralco’s various online and social media contact points like the Meralco website (www.meralco.com.ph), the Meralco Twitter account (www.twitter.com/meralco) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/meralco).
