Jail personnel nabbed in F’blanca drug bust

FLORIDABLANCA, Pampanga– A senior jail officer, detailed at the Dinalupihan, Bataan municipal jail, was arrested by anti-narcotics agents following a drug bust in front of Basa Air Base (BAB) in Barangay San Nicolas here Tuesday night.
Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency 3 (PDEA-3) Director Adrian Alvariño identified the suspect as SJO2 Felix Adalem Tubil, 42, a resident of Evergreen Street in said place. He said the jail officer did not resist arrest. Alvariño said the suspect was placed under surveillance following reports on alleged involvement in illegal drugs trade. He said Tubil is included in the list of PDEA3 high-value targets.
High Value Targets (HVTs), Alvariño said, include government law enforcers and personnel engaged in drug trafficking.
“It is one of our priority missions as ordered by PDEA Director General Arturo Cacdac,” he said.
He said a poseur buyer arranged the drug deal with Tubil and agreed to meet near the premises of BAB Tuesday night.
The suspect was immediately arrested after he handed 2.27 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride commonly known as shabu to a PDEA undercover, said Alvariño.
He said a quantitative amount of shabu was also found in the suspect’s possession when subjected to body check.
Also found from the suspect’s car – a brand new gray Toyota Innova (without license plates) – includes two handguns, a caliber .45 and 9mm caliber pistols with live bullets, several bankbooks issued by prominent banks, and remittance slips.
The buy bust was a joint operations between PDEA-3 and local police in Bataan particularly members of Hermosa PNP and the Intelligence Unit of Bataan Provincial Police Office (BPPO).
Meanwhile, Alvariño said a big-time illegal drug pusher was arrested during follow-up operations at Bagong Silang, Caloocan City where some 10 grams of shabu with street value of P50,000 was confiscated from the suspect.
Alex Baluyut, 52, was tagged as one of the illegal drugs sources operating in Bulacan areas.
The suspects were presently detained at the PDEA-3 detention cell as violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act is being readied for filing in court against them, said Alvariño.
