School holds benefit concert for priests

BACOLOR — Mary the Queen Academy of Pampanga (MQAP) on Saturday evening harnessed the best of its local talents in a full-packed benefit concert for retired and aspiring priests held at its campus-based House of David Multi-Purpose Hall.

The concert dubbed “Maryqueenian Families Talents Unlimited,” is part of the “Lugud Pari at Magpari” (LPAM) fundraiser launched in August 2008 by the Institutional Spirituality Quotient certified school, the House of David Group of Companies and House of David Foundation Inc.
Funds raised for LPAM aid retired and aspiring priests at Domus Pastorum and the Mother of Good Counsel Seminary in the City of San Fernando.

“We have since made LPAM a part of every school activity, even with family gatherings and corporate celebrations where our friends and stakeholders refrain from giving gifts but donations for Domus Pastorum and the seminary instead,” Teresa David-Carlos, MQAP president, told Sun.Star Pampanga.

“This presentation of our very own talents coincides with the 11th foundation day of MQAP. It has become a regular thing for us as we reach out to communities which have been part of us,” she added.
Archbishop Paciano Aniceto, who celebrated the Holy Mass for the event, siad LPAM has been very helpful in the Church’s many advocacies.

For her part, MQAP directress Mary Rechelle Guzman said the launching of the activity is just the beginning of the many events the school will hold this year to respond to the Catholic Church’s advocacies.
