Wall demolished as golf club gets TRO
January 20, 2011
ANGELES CITY โ A concrete fence put up by the Nepomuceno-owned company was demolished Tuesday after a temporary restraining order (TRO) was secured for its demolition.
The management of the Royal Garden Estates Golf and Country Club (RGEGCC) has secured a TRO ordering to demolish the concrete fence of the Neplum Incorporated.

In a statement sent to Sun.Star, however, Neplum said the property in question between RGEGCC and the Phil-Am Friendship Highway where a concrete road has been constructed leading to the golf course, is managed by them.
โThe construction of the road and the use of the property has been without authority from Neplum Inc. Rather, the same has only been possible due to the tolerance of Neplum Inc. In sum, RGEGCCโs vehicles, employees and patrons are trespassers,โ the press statement further read.
The firm, owned by the family of former city mayor Francis Nepomuceno, said vehicles, employees and patrons of the RGEGCC, owned by businessman Ruperto Cruz have been traversing through said property for several years now.
Neplum also said that most of the real property, which constitutes RGEGCC, is situated in Barangay Santa Cruz, Porac town and that the golf course is accessible through a public road in said villages.
Neplum said it is in the process of developing the property into a residential and commercial subdivision.
โIn relation thereto, and as an initial step to its development, Neplum, Inc. is securing the property from unlawful use and trespass,โ the statement said.
On January 14, Neplum said it sent a written notice to the management of RGEGCC informing them of the foregoing plan and advising them to cease and desist from trespassing through the property.
Neplum, Inc. added it also erected billboards throughout the property, prohibiting trespassing and warning those who should do so of criminal liability.
On January 17, the firm began the process of securing the property by fencing it.
โAs a natural and logical choice it began the erecting the fence at the portion of the property where trespassing is rampant โ the portion which is traversed by RGEGCโs vehicles, employees and patrons,โ the Neplum stated.
โNeplum, Inc. has the absolute right to secure the property and will exercise all legal means to do so,โ they added.
Trapped
Scores of Filipino construction workers and Korean tourists were trapped inside the golf course due to the fencing of the Nepomuceno property.
Personnel from the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) led by Lawyer Alex Sitchon assisted Tuesday night a Korean woman and his children in getting out of the golf course residential area.
The Korean woman, identified as Madonna, cried when she and her children got out of the heavily guarded fence constructed by Neplum workers.
Madonna said that an old woman, whom she described as short-haired and skinny, did not allow her and her children to cross the fence and got outside the property.
According to her, the old lady even shouted at them, โThis is war!โ
โI was afraid. I cannot imagine that this is happening in our life,โ Madonna said. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
