Nurse defends self: ‘I am not a swindler’

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A male nurse from Angeles City on Monday cried harassment against a businessman here for branding him as a “swindler.”
Julius Brian Dizon Turla, 27, a balikbayan nurse residing presently at Barangay Salapungan in the said city, said Paternus “Ringo” Limjoco, 44, of Barangay San Agustin in this city is merely “weaving” all the stories against him to malign his reputation.

He said Limjoco, who in news reports was named as the “friend” of his ex-girlfriend Rochelle Pineda Falses of Lourdes Sur in Angeles City, is reportedly Falses’s lover.
Limjoco earlier claimed Falses as the alleged “swindling” victim.
Turla on Monday clarified radio and newspaper reports, insisting that he does not owe Falses any money.
Showing documents to attest his claim, Turla said: “First, I am not an illegal recruiter from Canada that has been broadcasted over a radio station. Second, the money I allegedly borrowed for her has been settled and it’s not P59,000,” Turla told Sun.Star Pampanga in an interview Monday afternoon at Camp Olivas.
Turla said the money he allegedly borrowed has been settled in the presence of Falses’s parents.
“It was P10,000,” Turla said, adding that Falses’s allegations made it seem that he was being made to pay for all the expenses when they were still going out. Turla said that even Falses’s parents knew that he didn’t have any problems, and that her friend wanted him to deposit money in an account given by him. “How can I be sure if that is true?”
Turla added, “True, she was my girlfriend but when I learned that she was separated and her marriage was not yet legally acted upon, ako na ang kumalas. I was not harassing her as they claim. Ako pa nga ang hina-harass.”
He presented to Sun.Star Pampanga documents from the Angeles City Police Station 4 and 6 and the National Bureau of Investigation showing he is cleared of the allegations.
“Ang gusto kasing mangyari ni Rochelle ay isama ko siya sa Canada at maghati kami sa bayad. I declined. Even iyung meeting sa E-Square was not true because I came there to apply for a job, which I lost because of the reports that I was an illegal recruiter. Buong buhay ko ang sinisira nila, eh wala naman akong kasalanan sa kanila noong kaibigan daw niya (They’re destroying my whole life, and I have never done anything against them),” he said.
He revealed that he has been similarly accused of threatening Limjoco.
“How I can do that when I met him only once during an NBI [National Bureau of Investigation] inquest? Na ipapapatay ko raw siya sa mga NPA [New People's Army]? What they are using is the mobile number of Rochelle with those alleged grave threats. I don’t have the capacity to do that because my family and I are God-fearing and law abiding,” Turla said.
He added: “Actually, pati iyung pag-escort sa akin ng mga police from Station 6 is true because they are just doing their work dahil alam nila may threat din sa akin. Sila ay doon lang sa tama and what they said that nobody is above the law is true.
“In any case, I just want my name cleared of these allegations. Nasa court na rin ang case so I will just let it move from there. Wala akong sama nang loob sa kanila. Bahala na ang Diyos sa kanila,” Turla said. (Jovi T. De Leon)
