Two of the major challenges that were faced by the residents in Angeles City were the removal of the United States Air Force base as well as Mount Pinatuboโ€™s eruption in 1991. All of these challenges have been surpassed by the people in the city when its economy continued to boom. Because of the rapid development of the economy of the city and due to the creation of entertainment infrastructure in Angeles, it is later on named as the Entertainment Capital of Central Luzon.
