Tarlac police intensify crackdown on illegal gambling
AMP MACABULOS, Tarlac City — The Tarlac Provincial Police Office (TPPO) has intensified its drive against all forms of illegal gambling in the province.

Corpus said they have to impose the full force of the law to teach some stubborn citizens who refuse to refrain from illegal activities despite of several warnings by the authorities.
In Capas town, Superintendent Felix Verbo identified the suspected “sakla” operators as Rodolfo Batungbacal and Renel Macaraeg, both residents of Barangay Manlapig.
The two suspects were arrested following the operation conducted by the police in Barangay Lawi over the weekend.
Confiscated from the two suspects were one game board, two sets of playing cards and cash money amounting to P6,629.
In Concepcion town, police authorities nabbed Aries Bilman, card dealer (balasador) of Barangay San Roque, Magalang Pampanga; and Jerlon Sales, sakla bettor, of Barangay Nabaling, Magalang, Pampanga.
Town police chief Superintendent Randy Arceo said that seized from the suspected sakla operators were one set Spanish card, a “sakla” table and cash money amounting to P5,130.
“Instead of betting their money on illegal gambling, they should use their earnings to the more profitable things like their children’ education, shelter, clothing or put a small business that would be beneficial to their families,” Corpus added.
