Lawmaker moves for approval of pending health bills

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Third district Provincial Board (PB) member Monina Laus motioned Tuesday for 10 ordinances seen to benefit district hospitals and health workers across the province.
Laus, chairman of the PB’s committee on health, said the health bills have been pending since the previous administration and needed immediate approval, particularly that health is the top agenda of Pampanga Governor Lilia Pineda.
The lady lawmaker sponsored Ordinances 500 to 509, both seeking to enact and authorize the appropriation of supplemental budgets [economic enterprise] for various district hospitals in the province, including benefits for personnel and capital outlay of the government medical centers.
The amounts under Laus’s legislation include P1,321,050 for Ricardo P. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital; P1,252,900 for Escolastica Romero District Hospital; P1,257,278 for Mabalacat District Hospital; P1,246,330 for Macabebe District Hospital; P2,235,683 for Balitucan District Hospital; P826,540 for Porac District Hospital; P691,882 for Romana Pangan District Hospital; P3,859,682 for Diosdado Macapagal Memorial Hospital; P784,320 for San Luis District Hospital; and P80,000 representing the unexpended balance of the appropriation earmarked for food supplies and water expenses of Macabebe District Hospital.
“Matagal na rin kasing naka-pending ang bills na ito. Kawawa naman ang ating mga nurse and health workers doon sa mga district hospitals. With their approval, we can now move ahead with our health programs our governor wants,” Laus said.
